Training details

The Private Pilot Licence (PPL) is the first and fundamental step in pilot training. Its goal is to provide students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for independent flight, forming the foundation for further professional development and higher-level pilot qualifications.

The training consists of two main components:

  • Theoretical Training: Lasts approximately six months and covers the essential professional foundations of aviation. The module concludes with an official theoretical examination.
  • Practical Training: Includes a minimum of 45 flight hours during which students acquire the skills required for independent aircraft operation. The training concludes with a flight test.

The PPL authorizes the pilot to fly for non-commercial purposes at their own responsibility and to carry passengers (such as family members or friends) between domestic and international airports.

The programme is conducted by highly qualified instructors with extensive professional experience. It is offered in collaboration between Széchenyi István University and FlyCoop Academy Ltd., an aviation training institution with over 20 years of experience, providing modern conditions and more favorable terms compared to Western European pilot training programs.

Student records and achievements are managed through the Neptun system. Course materials are delivered through lectures and practical flight training in accordance with the regulatory requirements for examination eligibility.

Upon completion, Széchenyi István University issues a certificate of completion for the programme and an official record of the achieved results.
